Ok in many leagues people tend to throw around draft picks as if they were useless, but not in this league. The draft picks will be extremely valuable to your future and especially to your propects. You have 5 draft picks every year.
So this is how it will work:
1st round draftpick = 4pts
2nd round draftpick = 3pts
3rd round draftpick = 2pts
4th round draftpick = 1pts
5th round draftpick = 1pts
For every five points you amount, your propect will be upgraded one level!
For Example: Jimmy Howard according to hockeyfuture is a 8.0C this means at the end of the season we will create him in the game with an overall of 82 with potential 85 (if you have no idea what im talking about please read the propects overalls thread). However lets just say I have: One 1st, two 2nds, one 3rd, three 4ths and one 5th round draft picks, meaning i have an upgrade of:
(4 + 2x3 + 2 + 3x1 + 1 = 14)
This means I can upgrade Howard to an 8.5D!!! He will now be created with an overall of 84 with 87 potential.
But that means I have 4 pts left over! Do not worry you have two options:
First: You can save these draft picks (points) for next year just make sure you state it on your draft picks thread.
Second: You can use the remaining number of points to upgrade only your player's potential.
So if you pick choice number two Jimmy Howard will be created with overall of 84 and potential of 91 at the end of the season!!!
You may also choose to split up your draft picks to upgrade more than just one of your propects.
With this system in place I hope draft picks will no longer be throwaways.
